Baby Bedding
So today I decided to go out and search for baby bedding for the crib. I have been searching online for monkey bedding and boy is it expensive. So I go to JoAnn's thinking maybe I could make something. I did find monkey fabrics, 4 to be exact, but they too would have been too much money and I would have had to have someone help me make stuff. So I went to Target. I had been there several times before looking at bedding and it was usually around $50-70 for a set of 3 things: a crib sheet, bumper pad, and dust skirt. Well, today must have been my lucky day because all of their bedding was on sale. I got everything for the crib for only $30!!! Woo-hoo! I decided on a light green set. (Just in case.) I figured we will just decorate with monkey things and I will have neutral bedding. So the crib is set up and ready to go, although baby will not be in there for a while. We are going to have baby in a bassinet by our bed so I can breastfeed for the first few months. I feel like I accomplished something today, go me!

Its a...
Boy!!! So we went today to have our 20 week ultrasound and everything looks good. The baby is measuring right on time and has all of the necessary parts. The tech and the resident who was with her both agreed that it was a boy although they could not really get a great picture because he was moving around so much. Here are some pics from the ultrasound.

I think I felt the baby tonight!
I am sick as a dog today. I think it is just a cold, but I am miserable. I hope this cold gets better soon. I can't miss school because things are crazy right now and I am going to be at a parade with my students for 6 hours on Saturday.
On a lighter more exciting note, the cat was just kneeding my belly and every time he would lift a paw I would feel flutters. Baby thought kitty was crushing him/her as the walls were caving in. I hope everyone is having a great week!

Today's Appt
Tiff and I went to the appt this afternoon. They are pleased with the fact that I quit losing weight. (not that I should gain) We heard the baby's heartbeat briefly but he was spinning around in there like crazy and the doc couldn't keep him/her on the doppler long enough to give us a rate. She said the pain I am having in my side is likely round ligament pain from things stretching and not to worry about it. We set the date for the big ultrasound for December 18th. We are thinking about having the doc write whether it is a boy or a girl on a piece of paper and putting it in an envelope so that we can open it Christmas morning. I don't know if we can last that long though. Overall it looks like things are good. I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving tomorrow!!!
Appt. this afternoon
In about 5 hours I have an appt. Hopefully I will get to hear the peanut again. I am nervous for some reason. I think because I have had some pains in my side, although everything I have read says that it is normal and that unless it is accompanied by bleeding it should be fine. I will update you all later as to what we find out. Jesse is skipping this one so Tiff is going with me, then we are going to get smoothies afterwards. There is this really nice smoothie place around the corner from the OB office. Really I am writing this because I am bored out of my mind at school today. Many kids are absent for T-day tomorrow so things have been pretty calm, except for a fire drill this morning. I hope you are all well!

I bid you welcome!

I thought it might be a good idea to try to keep you all updated on all things babyhodge. Jesse and I both have a ton of family who are unable to be physically with us through this journey and I wanted to be able to share our experiences and pictures with you as they happen (or maybe a little later as I get busy). We are now 4 months pregnant, although most days I don't feel pregnant at all. I am finally starting to show which is exciting, although I can't wait until people can see that I am pregnant and not assume that I am just getting fatter, lol. We have another appt. coming up next week the day before Thanksgiving and hopefully we will sent the big ultrasound appt. then. (That's when we get to find out what we are having.) I hope everyone is well and I promise to try and post on here as often as I can. I am including the only 2 pregnancy pics we have so far, our first ultrasound pic from 7 weeks and a pic of my belly from just the other day. We love you all!
