Birthday Pool Party
Evan and his best buddy Jack enjoy some silly boy time in the pool for Evan's birthday! I love how they start counting at the end. They're so smart. :)
Happy 2nd Birthday Evan
We had a bunch of family and friends over yesterday for Evan's birthday party. We had a pool and sprinkler set up for the kids to play. They all had a ball. Evan is currently in toy heaven from all of the fun things he got yesterday. Oddly, or not so oddly, the first thing he went after this morning was the leftover balloons. My little man is growing up!
Easter
This year Jesse's great aunt hosted an egg hunt at the house for all of the grandkids. Evan had never done an egg hunt prior to this, but he sure kept up with the best of them.

Helicopter
For Christmas this last year Tiffany and Robby got Evan a helicopter. He loves this toy and plays with it nearly every day. Yesterday when Tiff was over at the house he was flying the helicopter around and making the appropriate sounds. Then he proceeded to crash the helicopter and throw himself on the ground, rolling around, yelling, and shouting "aw man". Never has Evan actually seen a crash like this and we don't watch this kind of TV around him. We laughed so hard as he was being such a ham. He did this numerous times and kept us all entertained. I hate that he is growing up so fast, but I love when his personality comes out like this as scary as it is sometimes.

Evan Update
Good morning my loves,
I am on spring break with a little extra time so I figured I should do an Evan update. I can't believe he is almost 2. Strangers think he is 3 due to his height, he's a tall boy! Our big boy is now sleeping in his toddler bed. He had escaped a few times from his crib so we knew it was time. We only had one rough night and other than that he has transitioned really well.
Evan has been "talking" up a storm. He jabbers constantly with real words sprinkled in throughout. It is actually really funny. He can now tell me when he is hungry, thirsty, or needs a diaper change. Very helpful I must say.
He has a fearless fascination with water, so we will need to get him some swimming lessons this summer. He is also obsessed with the dog. As soon as pull out of the driveway he is shouting "Bye puppy!" and when we turn on to our street to return he is talking about the dog.
Overall his is doing well. We are struggling with the occasional tantrum when things don't go his way. We are mostly doing time outs and if he doesn't take his time out then he gets a swat on the butt. It breaks my heart so I am always glad when he goes to time out without a fit.
Evan made my heart swell with pride the other day when we heard him singing for the first time. Obviously I sing to him all the time, so to hear him making his own music brought tears to my eyes. He is my everything and I can't imagine our lives without him.

Evan's New Throne
Although he is quite a ways from potty training, I used a gift card and got him his potty. He is very proud of it and we find him sitting on it randomly.
Christmas 2010
Sonia and Ava spent Christmas with us this year as they were staying with us at that time. Here is a quick video of the kids playing with the toys they unwrapped Christmas morning!
