Nursery in Progress

I worked for 6 hours in there and I am nearly done...The quilt and the pillow in the crib were made by Jesse's mom. I will post more as I get stuff finished. I should have taken before pics because it was a disaster in there!

Baby Shower

Saturday was my baby shower and I had a fantastic time. Thank you all for the wonderful and generous gifts. I was overwhelmed. Tiff did an incredible job as hostess. We all met at Tiff's house where there were decorations in the yard, including a cute baby balloon which at some point left us and flew to heaven RIP. Inside she had everything decorated. She grilled hamburgers and hotdogs and only had a few fires, lol. After we ate lunch we played some pretty awesome games including one with candy bars melted in diapers...yes it was gross, and one where the guests had to measure my belly, Yolanda won only centimeters off. Then I opened presents which seemed to take forever because you are all too much! I even got a gift from Megan's dog Penny. (I opened a bag and there was a dog toy in there, although one year old Jack could have been the culprit as well.) We had cake and more food. The boys came back shortly after we wrapped up, they were at MegOMalleys eating and drinking. Jesse loaded the car up and we came home. We were exhausted, I can only imagine how Tiff felt. We went home and didn't even eat dinner. I was blown away by everyone's generosity especially during this tough economic time. I have not been able to go through everything yet, so I still may be surprised at what we received. I am currently working on thank you cards, but I wanted to give everyone an informal thank you today!!!! Lots of love, Isa

Feeling very fortunate today.

Although my day started off pretty crappy with little sleep, barfiness, and general poopiness, I am feeling very blessed and happy to be 32 weeks pregnant and nearing the end. I just found out this morning that a friend of mine from college that I had been trying to keep in contact with just had another miscarriage. I was excited for her to be pregnant with me for a little bit. I can't even begin to fathom what she is going through. Big hugs to her.

Baby doll injury at childbirth class

So Jesse and I went to childbirth class last night. It was not too painful and pretty informative. I did think however that we were going to get thrown out at the end. We were all sitting on the floor with our labor coaches (about 10 couples) getting ready to start our relaxation breathing. First of all the one teacher could not get the lights dimmed how she wanted, they were on off on off on off. (not relaxing) Then, once we were underway, I was watching the other teacher put some things away including a baby doll with its head inside a fake pelvis. As she was moving it the head fell out of the pelvis and landed with a thud on the table. I could NOT stop laughing, with everyone being so quiet with the crazy forest music in the background the laughing only got worse, then I could feel Jesse laughing behind me which made me have to bury my head in the blanket. Everyone was looking at us and I thought we were going to get in trouble. We are bad students! Actually the giggles originally started when we were passing around babies at different stages of development. They were rubbery and Jesse wanted to ask the guy next to him to "pass him the eraser". As a side note, the last time Jesse and I had a class together he got kicked out for talking to me. This should be an interesting 4 weeks.

Childbirth classes

So Sunday we start childbirth classes. I am a little freaked out and for some reason I feel like it will be like the first day of high school. lol. I think being in the hospital where we are going to have baby Hodge is going to be a pretty big reality check. We are also taking the labor and delivery tour on Monday I think. Hopefully the people in our class do not suck butt since we will be spending the next four Sundays with them. Also, I hope I don't do anything embarrassing like a lady I was chatting with online who broke the arm off the doll she was supposed to be practicing infant CPR on. Actually, that would be freaking hilarious. I hope you all have a great weekend!
